Terms & Conditions

Prices & Payment Terms

Every effort will be made to give reasonable notice of price changes; however OSI reserves the right to change prices without notice. GST, HST and provincial taxes are not included in price lists and / or quotes and will be added to all orders unless notified of exemption. A quotation not accepted within thirty (30) days is subject to a price increase. New accounts are welcome; we simply request three trade references. Standard terms are 30 days net, subject to credit approval. Any account over 30 days will be subject to a 2% interest charge on all past due accounts. If an account stays in arrears, future shipments will be held till payment is received. All returned checks (NSF) are subject to a surcharge of $40.00 per check.

Minimum Orders

We appreciate all orders; how ever we do require a minimum order of $25.00. A handling fee of $5.00 will be charged on any order under $25.00, except approved backorders. To help minimize the costs of processing the order for your organization and OSI we suggest that you group your purchase needs onto one PO and provide the following information: Product Description, Quantity, Code Number, and Billing Address, Shipping Address, and End User name, Telephone Number, Project Number or PO Number. Shipments

Unless you request a specific shipping method all stock items will be shipped prepaid via our preferred courier depending on your needs; F.O.B. Edmonton, Alberta, F.O.B. Calgary, Alberta, or F.O.B. Mississauga, Ontario. Shipping costs and insurance (if necessary) will be added to your invoice. All Hazardous Goods items that require paperwork for ground or air shipments will have a $30.00 to $60.00 service charge added to the invoice as well as the shipping cost depending on the carrier. Pick up and collect orders will be charged $5.00 for required DG paperwork.

Storage

Directions for the use and storage of reagents are provided on the box or in the instruction manuals. Proper use and storage of reagents are an integral part of our warranty terms and conditions.

Returns

Products can only be returned after securing a return authorization number (RA#) from a customer service representative. Whether returning a defective product under warranty, or returning an unwanted item or an item damaged in shipping, product returns must always have a return authorization number and a statement of the reason for return. The following conditions must be met when returning an item for exchange or refund.  (1.) The item was not used. (2.) The item was shipped from OSI office. (3.) The item was received and invoiced within the last 30 days. (4.) The item was not damaged during shipping. (5.) The item was not contaminated in any way. (6.) The item was stored properly, as per the instructions of that item. All items returned with no replacement or repairs will be subject to a 20% restocking fee. Test kits and reagents are not returnable, due to storage requirements and expiration dates; call for information. The following conditions must be met when returning an item for repair or warranty.  (1.) The item must be accompanied with proof that is has not been contaminated. (2.) The item must not have been misused or abused (if found to be so the warranty will be void). (3.) The item must have been purchased from an OSI office. (4.) The item must have been purchased in the past 30 days. The following conditions must be met when returning an item that was damaged in shipping.  (1.) The damage encountered during shipping was reported to the carrier immediately upon arrival. (2.) The package and all its contents were saved for proof to the carrier. (3.) The packing list is with the damaged items. USED EQUIPMENT IS NOT RETURNABLE.

Warranty 

All products are warranted to meet the specifications set forth on their label only. All other warranties, expressed or implied, including the warranties of Merchantability and Fitness of Use, are excluded. Any change or modification of a product or its prescribed procedure for use may adversely affect its stated specification. Osprey Scientific Inc. shall not be liable in the event of any such change or modification or for any indirect or consequential damages. Please see packaging for further details on the length of warranty for your particular product.

Safety

Proper care in packaging and shipping of all products is of utmost importance. Please use proper protection when unpacking and testing of parameters while using any harmful chemicals. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are provided, please read them in respect to handling of harmful chemicals and take proper care in disposal with regard to human health and the physical environment.
